A research partnership between cambodia and france
The objective of the researchers of the JEAI HEALTHYRICE is to identify diversified agricultural rice systems allowing an increase in soil and plant health, and a decrease in pesticide use and their occurrence as residues in consumption products.
Our multidisciplinary approach will identify best agroecological practices fitting with pesticides regulations and markets that will be promoted to farmers for a more sustainable production of rice in Cambodia.
Leaders: Dr Malyna Suong (ITC-Institute of Technology of Cambodia) & Dr. Fidero Kuok (ITC at start of the project, now director general of the National Institute of Science, Technology & Innovation (NISTI))
Correspondant: Dr. Lionel Moulin (Institute of Research for Sustainable Development (IRD) - PHIM Laboratory, Montpellier, France (umr-phim.cirad.fr)
Scientific Expertise: Soil science, Microbiology, Parasitology, Nutrition, Plant science, Agronomy
The JEAI HEALTHYRICE is funded by IRD, the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development
The JEAI program of the IRD is helping the emergence and reinforcement of young teams of researchers from developing countries. More information here
